1986

Company founded, establishing a new model for collaborative, high-quality veterinary medicine.

1989

Integrated regional laboratory services, with Antech Diagnostics, establishing a foundation of providing faster, internal diagnostic results for pet owners.

1995

Spearheaded dedicated pain management protocols, ensuring patient comfort and compassionate care.

1996

Introduced preventative wellness testing to catch diseases earlier and extend the healthy years pets share with their families.

2001

Launched continued education programs for Associates, investing in ongoing professional development and elevating clinical expertise within VCA.

2010

VCA introduced CareClub®, making comprehensive, routine preventative pet healthcare accessible for families nationwide.

2012

Expanded screening capabilities to include advanced biomarkers, transforming how veterinary teams detect and manage early-stage chronic illnesses.

2017

VCA joined the Mars Veterinary Health network to further advance the standard of veterinary care and broaden access to specialized services for pets.

2020

VCA Charities supports animal welfare organizations and, since 2020, has helped more than 900,000 pets through 4,000 grants with awards totaling nearly $12,000,000.

2022

Championed the rollout of hands-free radiology, enhancing safety for veterinary teams while maintaining precise imaging standards.

2026

Celebrating 40 years and nearly 1,000 hospitals across the U.S., VCA treats more than four million pets annually. Beyond hospital walls, its lifetime impact includes partnerships with more than 200 shelters nationwide.
